Golf Course
31st March 2010

Following the closure of Standish Court Golf Club and as yet no sign of it reopening Douglas Valley at Horwich could fill a gap. They are offerring some very good membership deals with free entry into early season comps and a free official handicap. It is a 9 hole course with 5 par 4s and 4 par 3s but very tricky, you cant smash your way around.

The shop has just come under new management and they have a very good selection of stock.

So why not give it a go, you may be pleasantly surprized.

Come on Roberto !!!
15th March 2010

How many games do we have to lose to mediocre or poor teams before Roberto realizes that his system and formations dont work against hardworking sides playing 4-4-2 or 4-5-1. We played with almost unchallenged freedom against Liverpool because they were set up in a very similar way to us but when we get up against an in your face battling side the 4-2-3-1 that Martinez favours falls apart. I always had reservations about Martinez taking over at Wigan and I now think that I am justified when I say that he is tactically naive, lacks the experience both as a player and manager at top level and both he and his coaching staff do not have the knowhow to take this team in any other dirction but down.

Latics V Bolton
18th February 2010

Was down at the DW last night, which is only expected being a season ticket holder but oh what a dire, dire performance from both sides. I don't know who had the worst game Latics, Bolton or the referee they were all as bad as each other. I have never been a fan of Robertos tactics, team selections or hand jestures on the touch line, they always appear quite rude but last night we were lacking from start to finish. For the most part of the second half we played with 3 strikers on the pitch, well if you can call Scotland a striker and still never looked like scoring. The whole thing is very frustrating and is becoming more and more difficult to watch but saying that I will still be there on Sunday.

25 Donations
17th February 2010

Last night I made my 25th blood donation and received my silver award. As blood donors go I am positively a newbie but I am as chuffed as uncle Joe's.
