Spotted some indians performing in town on thursday while mooching around after  work. (pics in Wiggin Album) They were very good and entertaining to watch. Heard a rumour they will be back in 2 weeks. Hope so  so i can buy one of their cool cds. Did anybody else on WW see um?

Hi Everyone.....

I have just joined Wiganworld as I've just moved up here, though I have been facinated by this place for a while especially after reading George Orwells wierd book "The road to Wigan pier". I would love to know anyone's views on this book (good and bad).

It is very different up here to where I come from down in sunny London. For one thing the people are alot more friendlier and much more helpful.

Where I come from (Brixton) is a very busy area, extremely built up and a very high crime rate. It does have it's charms, but not my cup of tea any more.

Any way am very pleased to join this site and hope to make some good friends through here in the future.

One question: Is Wigan classified as in Lancashire or Greater Manchester? There is alot of confusion on this as most say that it's Lancashire, but certain organisations refer to it as Greater Manchester.... or is in it both technically - lol
