If you like looking back at Wigan's past like I do, you might like this film, it was made in 1977 by Granada TV and it is about Wigan Casino, but it includes a lot of footage of Wigan as it was in 1977 and as such it is very nostalgic.

Great vid. Did you know you can embed YouTube vids in your blog - on YouTube there is some code with the vid - copy'n'paste it.
Go to write blog. On the editor click 'Source' at top then paste in YouTube code. ;o) Don't forget to click 'Source' again afterwards to type in your blog.

thanks stoo really enjoyed watching this although the casino was not in my era i have heard a lot about it and how well it was liked by all of that generation.. i loved to listen to the older people and thier memorys of wigan in thier day would you know the names of the lady and gentleman .. thanks again and well done

Brill stoo. vid was great. I remember the casino times very well, it brought back lots of memories.
The old man on the canal at the end of the video was my nephews great grandad, can't wait to tell him.

I have been back for visits and even with all the changes Wigan is still a great place.
