Pie, Chips and Peas PleaseMike Morters has written an amusing and interesting book about growing up in Wigan. Mike, originally from Sinclair Place, Worsley Hall moved to South Africa in 1971 then to America in 1977.

He now resides in Gainesville, Georgia!

The book is titled "Pie, Chips and Peas......Please!". An interesting read.

Some of Mike's school friends are mentioned with some funny tales. Do you remember Mike? You'll probably be in the book. ;)

Summer
14th July 2009

Well, summer is here which is why I'm a little quiet on here at the moment. I'm not neglecting the site, there are photos to add, court results, news, the odd squabble on the message boards etc and piles of emails.

I will be posting again soon with news of a couple of new Wigan related books which will be of interest to locals.

Also, news on a new 'society' which I mentioned a while ago...

Just out of interest, I've been looking at the album and the top 3 most viewed photos (out of 10,000+) have attracted over 35,000 views, alone!

The 3 most viewed album photos are...

In 3rd place, D.P.R. FC Presentation Night, 1988

In 2nd place, Abram C of E School, c1967

In 1st place, Holy Family R.C. Primary School, Platt Bridge

In total, the album photos have attracted over 4 million views. Blimey.

Walking Day
5th July 2009

Wigan Parish Church Walking DayWigan Parish Church Walking Day took place today. The walk started at the church at 2pm and finished at Market Place almost an hour later.

There were plenty of people in town who watched and luckily the weather was kind too.
