Time to post
31st August 2009

Save WiganTime to post something since my holidays, I can't believe how the time has flown by.

In June, I mentioned a new group for anyone who is passionate about Wigan. Judging by some of the comments left in the album and photo-a-day about important buildings left to rot, there are a few of us.

The new "Save Wigan" group is aimed at raising awareness (and funds) to help save what little bit of our history is left.

Many discussions and meetings have taken place and the "Save Wigan" group / society is in the making. A new website is on the way with lots of history and information on what we class as 'buildings and structures at risk'.

Membership will be open to all. It will cost a tenner a year which will go into the pot towards the cause. The society will be run online except for the yearly AGM which will give us a chance to meet, have a social and a natter.

I've put the feelers out and have had some great responses. One local organisation has donated £1,000 already!

Will post more info and a link soon.

I'm back
14th August 2009

Been away for a couple of weeks on holiday soaking up the sun and beer.

My mates John and Ron have been looking after the site while I was away, thank you very much.

If you've emailed me please be patient and I will reply. Around 240 emails arrived when I got back. Once I've gone through the backlog more updates will appear.
