Westwood and Howe Bridge cemetery indexes have just been improved.
As with the changes made to Wigan Cemetery Index on 20th October, I've added the same new feature to the other indexes that allow you to click a plot number and this will link to a new page which shows who else is buried in the same plot.
Great stuff Brian, really helps for those of us not in Wigan to tie families together. Brilliant.

Hi Brian,
I've used the indexes to great effect doing my family tree, and can see the point of using the plot numbers, as a guide. These following pointers may come in handy though, to others who utilize the site. Be aware of spellings, they can be errors on the part of the stonemason, or altered through clerical errors. The name on the index may be the first name on the headstone and therefore not who you may be searching for, and finally not even included on the headstone. Some names in your indexes do not match what is actually correct, and should be investigated further to obtain a full search.

Thanks for the comments. I agree, the indexes shouldn't be taken as gospel and are a guide only.
Hence the quote on the search:
"These results are for guidance only.
Results have been provided in good faith based from records transcribed."
Again, thanks must go to Freda Chorlton for her hard work in transcribing the records.
